All around ONELGA,there are grim reminders that we who inhabit this oasis of Oil and Gas exploration and exploitation are exposed daily to the hazards of every day living by prospecting companies who indescriminately lay high pressure oil and Gas pipeline along the road sides and some very close to our houses. We wonder what it will take for the oversight authorities to tell this Companies that the life of its citizens are worth more than oil/ gas profit.Consider the gas flares from the Ebocha fields as well as those from Omoku, Obagi ,Obite and all the oil and gas locations around ONELGA burning continously and emmitting gaseous fumes at temperature above 4000 degrees celcius.

While we cannot quantify the cost in terms of health and enviromental consequencies created by this continous assault on our people and land. We believe that the disaster created is huge and would require not only Government involvement but a genuine effort on the part of the prospecting Companies to invest a good percentage of their resources on good health care for our people as well as funding other projects that will improve the quality of life and extend the life span of ONELGA indigenes.TheChinese, say that " a picture is worth a thousand words". We have told our story utilising a few pictures. We hope the World sees our plight as depicted in the pictures.
